Alberobello to Bisceglie - back to the Adriatic coast

It was a very cold morning, but we got on the road quite early as we wanted to get back to the Adriatic coast. Officially this should have been 95km, but in fact turned out to be 102km. Most of the extra was due to the fact that some of the small roads we were following were blocked off and we had to work out (sometimes lengthy) detours.

The dry stone walls reminded us of Yorkshire and the temperature certainly did!

However, most of the day was spent on quiet lanes meandering through olive groves, cherry orchards and vinyards. It sounds idyllic and lots of it was. We saw no diseased olives as we had further south. Unfortunately though there is a huge problem with flytipping in this area and the countryside is blighted by piles of builders' waste, old fridges, old matresses etc. etc.

 We were helped along today by gravity and also by a brisk southerly breeze. The sun came out and we started shedding the layers we had donned before leaving. Eventually  we arrived at the Agricampeggio Brezza tra gli Ulivi on the coast between Molfetta and Bisceglie.

It lives up to its name and we pitched our tent under a couple of olive trees.
