Cremona to Vaprio d'Adda

My original planning had put a rather optimistic stage for today, 117km to the next campsite. We didn't feel up to that, especially with the heat in the afternoons reaching the high 30s at the moment, so we booked a B&B at Vaprio d'Adda a mere 85km away.

The journey was pleasant along rivers and canals as well as quiet rural roads for much of the time. There were a few nice towns of which we found Crema the most interesting and we stopped for a rest and a lovely salad lunch in the beautiful main square.

Our B&B is in an intersting house dating from 1800 and perched high above the Adda River. It was once owned by a famous Italian actress, Anna Magnani. But the main claim to fame is that Leonardo da Vinci owned and lived in the house next door for seven years.
